Meet Kish - executive business coaching consultant (and wannabe classical pianist!)
There are many other executive coaches around, so why should you choose to work with me? One to one coaching in particular is quite personal. You need to feel able to open up to your coach. To do that you need to have good rapport. Here is a little bit about me so you can get to know me better.
What I offer
One of the most valuable things I offer my clients is my very rounded business experience. I’ve been part of a team in a large organisation. I’ve run my own business too so I know what it’s like to employ and motivate other people.
My coaching technique has been honed from this experience. I take successful strategies from large organisations and adapt them for small to medium sized businesses. They are strategies that have worked well for me as a small business owner.
I’ve lived and worked in several countries and have experienced many different cultures. It’s given me great insight into how to get people to recognise and appreciate differences. I also speak several languages.
Professional background
As an executive business coaching consultant I’ve worked for large organisations including BT, O2, Network Rail, the NHS, and the civil service. I’ve also worked with many smaller businesses, and individuals.
Continual development
I believe in continual professional development and I practice what I preach. I undergo one to one coaching myself, and my work is supervised. I have an enquiring mind and really enjoy going to conferences, seminars, and talks by people I admire to extend my learning.
I’m also a great believer that all business coaches should have recognised qualifications. You wouldn’t pay an unqualified mechanic to fix your car would you? So why would you invite an unqualified coach into your business?
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and I’m signed up to their code of ethics. The ICF has 16,000 members in 90 countries, and I am on the board for the UK chapter.
Personal background
Outside of work and family, I love to walk - it helps me to clear my mind and think.
Meditation is my life-line. It raises my self-awareness and gives me space to think and reflect. I’m very committed to it: it’s a permanent fixture in my diary two mornings per week during working hours. Commitment is something that is hugely important for anyone who is being coached as it teaches self-respect. So I think it’s vital that, as a professional coach, I too show commitment in whatever I do.
The things I do and experience in my personal life feed into my work as an executive business coaching consultant. My social skills and love of people help me to draw them out and find out what makes them tick.
And the wannabe classical pianist? Well, I’ve been having lessons for three years now and I’m still struggling. But I feel an enormous sense of achievement when I do play a piece well.
“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work.”
Emile Zola
